HYBE Entertainement Leaks Fantastic Fees to Trainees, Including BTS

Boy group BTS originally came from an agency that used to be small and had no name. But because of the hard work, they can be as big as now and at the same time raise their name of their agency which has now been reformed into one of the famous agencies, Big Hit Entertainment, which has just been renamed HYBE Entertainment.

Big Hit Entertainment will not be born if the owner never makes it, namely Bang Si-hyuk or BTS members often call him Papa Bear. Bang Si-hyuk is said to have made a huge amount of investment for the future of his trainees first. On one occasion, Bang Si-hyuk shared how much it would cost to conduct a full-fleged training program on trainees at BigHit Entertainment (now HYBE Entertainment) in just one year.

Average cost incurred

Bang Si-hyuk mentioned the cost that HYBE Entertainment has to cover in terms of conducting a full training program for a trainee within a year, which is around 20 million won or around IDR 260 million (US$ 18,200).

However, he also stated that the amoubt of investment he mentioned earlier is the average cost commonly incurred by any agency or company, not only for its agency. The amount of such costs could have gone up if the agency or company concerned had a program by dispatching such trainees to gain a very expensive experience such as overseas training.

Dormitory facilites for trainees

During the trainee period until the debut day, trainees are usually provided with accomodations that are dorms or dormitories. However some still live together with their family during the trainee and have only lived in one dorm or dormitory after successfully debuting. Because such facilities are dependent on the company or agency concerned. The cost for meals and shelter for example, for trainees during the period of such training is borne entirely by the agency side.

Don't ask for the trainee fees back

South Korea agencies such as SM, YG, JYP Entertainment, including HYBE Entertainment do not ask for change or have trainees who have debuted pay for the full amount of expenses the agency has incurred while during the trainww period.

It can thus be interpreted that they will soon earn as they have made their debut without having to compensate training expenses to the agency. However, there may be other agencies that could have asked for change over fees that has been incurred during the training period, which means trainees who have new debuts will receive their earnings after replacing the entire expenses incurred by the agency during their trainee days.
